What boggles the mind is how frustrated people get over political ideology.one may make a grandiose assumption.that for the greater good and the enlightened society occurs only through the collectivist paradime. seems rational two heads are better than one?.the alternative reality may be that the greater good an the enlightened society may start with the individuals true motive toward benevolent behavior instead of the i should be benevolent behavior.old chinese proverb.."to read about it is to forget it.to see it is to remember it..to DO it is to understand it.these talking heads in the media influence people greatly.it seems WE make a grandiose assumption that they are smart.many are mostly window dressing.they don't seem to embrace experience.i loved bill mahr and jon stuart a few years back.but they lost there sense of objectivity the cats out of the bag.i have come to the conclusion they are window dressing and most likely don't have the capacity for profound thought.

By the way... Michelle G. above my comment has no idea what he is talking about Glenn Beck, although unusual, reports an editorial (clearly labeled and a discussion of personal opinion). John Stewart does the same thing as Glenn Beck. Although Glenn Beck uses fear to show his opinion, many of his statements are backed up with factual eviedence. John Stewart uses comedy and absolutely no facts to show his hypocritical viewpoints. By playing short clips of fox news and throwing in a poorly drawn (mostly irrelivant) joke with goofy facial expressions he is able to make anyone look stupid. This is a tactic that can be used in any situation to make anyone look stupid. Michelle G. u live in the UK and clearly are uninformed I hope u failed your paper cause u suck at life

John stewart is a giant hypocrit with no talent. Anyone can make the newcast (such as fox news) look foolish by playing half of a conversation and throwing in a wierd facial expression. Fox news backs up news with many statistics and clearly lists editorial sections of the newscast. John Stewart makes fun of fox news because he hates conservatives. He completely disreguards the factual evidence that fox news presents. Many liberal newscast use statistics from fox news proving that fox has a solid journalist integrinty

It seems that the OP's original message has gotten lost. Her point was simple - Stewart's show had 8 years of making fun of Bush, and even if you were a Republican you loved to laugh at Bush, and it did so wonderfully. So when Obama was elected, many viewers were looking forward to the same level of humor, but what we are getting is repeated jokes about how Republicans are reacting to Obama with minimal jokes about the current administration itself. Now, there are jokes at Obama's expense, but if you actually watch the show you must notice that they are far easier on the Dems then they are on the Reps. If you don't see that, you are not watching the show very closely. Now, Stewart is free to slant his show however he wants, but if I may speak for the OP for a moment, what she found funny was the lambasting of the government, and that just doesn't happen any more on the show as Stewart agrees with most of what the government is doing. I think this post has less to do with politics and more to do with the shows unwillingness to maintain the level of satire it went with before.

As for the issue of today's youth believing that Stewart is actually broadcasting the news, those who have brought it up have a point. Of course, he will never come out and say he is a lib or a dem as that would pretty much erase a large chunk of his viewers. Keep in mind everyone - it is a TV show and the job of a TV show is to get and maintain viewers. As long as this show has viewers and is winning awards they will continue to do things the way they want. And there is nothing wrong with that. If you don't like the show simply change the channel.

Hello, and greetings from the UK.
I, along with many here, am a huge fan or Mr. Jon Stewart.
I thought almost all Americans loved him because of his honest approach to news, along with his great satire.
He's way better than all those Fox news cronies and that despicable Glenn Beck (bloody hell, he's insane,) who says that God relays messages to him. As if! And Rush Limbaugh is a disgrace! Saying the oil in the Gulf is "as natural as the ocean water is".
It makes me genuinely sick to my stomach that you all are attacking JON STEWART out of all of these people. At least he has a brain. His show is COMEDY, and just because you don't find him funny, you shouldn't hate him. This whole "I hate Jon Stewart" is complete rubbish, go hate someone who deserves it.

wow guys, really?

All this over one guy?

Well i know i get upset at glenn beck sometimes, but i don't think i would ever take it this far.

Insulting one another, this isn't debating, this is just....crazyness.
Can anyone just sit here and just say " take it or leave it". Simple as that.

I know someone is going to bash me, but i really could care less. Have a blast, but i had to say this.

Another great moto " cry two tears in a bucket fuck it"

I hate Jon Liebowitz for taking the Scottish name of my ancestors and using it to hide his Jewish roots, one of which is his hook nose.If you think he's sensitive about being Jewish image how he must hate being a 5-6, 150-pound phony.
