Mr. President, you are the false choice.
According to the White House blog, the president would like us to give our remarks on scientific integrity:
The President gave the context in his remarks:On March 9th, I signed an executive memorandum with a clear message: Under my administration, the days of science taking a back seat to ideology are over. Our progress as a nation – and our values as a nation – are rooted in free and open inquiry. To undermine scientific integrity is to undermine our democracy. It is contrary to our way of life.That’s why I have charged John Holdren in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy with leading a new effort to ensure that federal policies are based on the best and most unbiased scientific information. I want to be sure that facts are driving scientific decisions – and not the other way around.
“The days of science taking a back seat to ideology are over?” Since when? Is science not taking a back seat to ideology when it comes to “climate change?” The last time I checked, there was plenty of science out there that doesn’t support the claims being made about climate change. There is plenty of science to suggest that the globe is not warming and, even if it is, it is not a man-made problem. Yet, this science takes a back seat to your ideology.
Embryonic stem cell research is questionable, to say the least, and scientifically it hasn’t offered much. There have been plenty of bold claims of cures for diseases the destruction of embryos is going to lead to, but not much scientific data to support these claims. There have been much greater advances with adult stem cells. So, what motivated you to make the decision to lift the ban on federally funding stem cell research? That was purely scientific, I’m sure. No ideology there.
You want my opinion, President Obama? You hold science at the mercy of your ideological integrity while projecting this tendency on your opponents. Anyone who doesn’t agree with your agenda is “politicizing” the issue, putting ideology before science, or presenting the public with a “false choice.” You are the false choice, Mr. President, and I can’t wait for the majority of Americans to see that.

Totally and completely agree with everything you said. BHO is continually saying he is doing the exact opposite of what he is actually doing. How so many fail to see it is quite the mystery. He lives by Rules for Radicals. Sickening.

There is a group of physicians, patients and other interested people working together to get treatment with adult stem cells legalized in the U.S. as it should be. The organization was formed in response to the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) recent position that the adult stem cells found in everyone’s body are drugs. A person’s cells (autologous) should be their own and NOT regulated by the FDA. That is one of the major reasons why most stem cell clinics are overseas. This stance is ridiculous and is costing millions of lives while sick Americans wait for the use of their own stem cells which would improve their quality of life. The FDA is not protecting us, but hurting us. Please ask your family and friends to sign up (“JOIN”), and get as many doctors to sign up as well.
