It’s official: Tom Coburn is running for a second term. Yay!
It appears that Sen. Tom Coburn (Hero-Okla.) has announced that he is running for a second term:
Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) announced today that he will be running for a second term in the Senate.
The outspoken Oklahoma conservative declared his reelection plans this morning in Tulsa, where he said he made his decision because “our country’s future is at stake.”
“We can either do what we’ve been doing — borrow without limit and spend without restraint — and pass on crushing debt, a lower standard of living and less freedom to the next generation,” Coburn said.
“Or we can restore the common sense principles that made our country — limited government, individual liberty and personal responsibility.”
This is great news, as far as I’m concerned. It almost makes me wish that I lived out in Oklahoma.
As we all know, he is one of my heroes. Admittedly, I was a little disappointed when I met him a couple of years back and he turned down my request to run for the presidency. I might just have to go out to Oklahoma and help this one get out.

I am from Oklahoma and we are all very proud of Doctor Coburn. He is a man of his word. He loves his country and believes in its citizens. I appreciate your comments and hope the rest of the country will see how fortunate we are.

I would also like to mention that most of those that find themselves with no health insurance usually are students, self-employed and people who are out of work. More than half on the uninsured are really under the age of Thirty-five. They do not come to feel they are in need of health insurance as they are young plus healthy. Their income is typically spent on real estate, food, in addition to entertainment. Some people that do represent the working class either entire or as a hobby are not presented insurance by way of their jobs so they proceed without due to the rising expense of health insurance in america. Thanks for the tips you share through this web site.
