The republicans should get a spine and stop acting like the Dems who are just interested in the party power instead of what is best for the country. For that reason I agree with Dennis D, and maybe Michelle can start something with the slogan "Incumbants Need Not Apply". I am also fed up with the notion of the so called Latino/Hispanic vote as if we were some kind of monolithic voting block similar to the blacks supporting Obama. As a conservative American from Puerto Rico, I am offended at the thought that I am going to sell my soul and values just because a Judge of Puerto Rican parents was named to the supreme court. For the record, let me clarify, children of Puerto Rican parents born in New York are known as "Newyoricans" and for the most part are not considered to share the same values as the islanders born and raised in PR. They have been tainted with the NY liberal entitlement values.
My best,

Aside from Sotomayor being a competent but, at best, average legal mind, what are the reasons you see for voting against her?

To be sure, I think that the mere fact that she is no more than an average judge is sufficient to vote against her when there were greater legal minds on the short list, and I have my own list of reasons to dislike Sotomayor as a nomination (e.g. her opinion in Maloney v. Cuomo that Heller v. District of Columbia did not incorporate the 2nd Amendment or otherwise overturn the decision in Presser v. Illinois) but I am interested in hearing what you think about her record.
