Social Security: Welfare for old people.
For those of you who don’t know, I’m a huge Simpsons fan. Every night I try to get in an episode or two before I go to bed. I don’t really care for the Halloween episodes and usually skip over them, but I’m doing other things so I just let it go. I had to laugh and share this with you.
The set up: It’s Bart’s birthday and grandpa’s present to him is a big box of money.
Marge Simpson: Where did you get all the money?
Grandpa: The government. I didn’t earn it. I don’t need it. But, if they miss one payment I’m gonna raise hell!
Social security, welfare for old people. More honesty than you would get from your average welfare recipient, though. It’s so refreshing!

It’s intriguing that you get your opinion(s) from a cartoon; as you know and as you are doing to date, money is removed from your pocket (e.g., paycheck) for Social Security. I didn’t ask the .gov to do this, but for 50 years, they made certain that I “gave”. Well, Sparky, now it’s payback time for all the money I “donated” for the past 2,600 paychecks (52X50). Welfare? Hell, no…they took my money and now’s the payback. Welfare? That’s only for the leeches who’ve never worked or paid a dime into the .gov. We’ve got 50 yrs of credit due us, so you continue to watch ur cartoons, youngun!!
