Tragic HMO Riots of 1999
Sometimes a person says something so funny I wish I was the person who had said it. From The Other McCain:
Something must be done about health care, he said, “or this society’s not going to hold together.”
Eh?
Of course, we all remember the tragic HMO riots of 1999, the deadly terrorist attacks by the pharmaceutical lobby, the ongoing carnage in urban America caused by rival gangs of health-insurance lobbyists. The prospect of more such violent turmoil is surely what Matthews had in mind.
Now, obviously that last paragraph was the funny part, but I had to give you the lead up. Chris Matthews is an idiot. That’s what I should have said to him when my friend interrupted him on a Friday night at Hawk & Dove for a picture. Instead, I bothered him for a picture, too. Then, I went to the bar next door and told a bunch of interns he was there so that they would go interrupt him, too.
