Katie, I agree with you and I think, if you look at opinion poll after opinion poll, most Americans agree with you, too.

When polls give a six point scale most people, no matter how they identify themselves, whether "pro-choice" or "pro-life", think abortion should be legal for victims of rape/incest, life/health of the mother, fetal defect. My sister-in-law was faced with a similar decision once and I do believe that is a choice that should remain private.

Unfortunately, the majority of abortions in this country (on average, about 93 percent of them) are performed for reasons not listed above: the woman doesn't want to marry the father, doesn't want any more kids, uses it as birth control, etc. I think most of us don't approve of this, but we feel compelled to allow it in order to preserve the right for those women mentioned above that have serious decisions to make in the face of horrendous consequences.

This girl is an idiot and the child will probably be raised by a nanny. I mean, she has a reality TV show to run! But, a 30-year-old woman with plenty of money and a loving family (say what you want, the Kardashians seem pretty loving and supportive of each other) has no reason to have an abortion and I think it's a positive message to get out to America.

It's nice to know she's keeping the baby - even if he/she will probably be raised by a nanny as most celebrity kids are - at least the child can have a chance.

I cannot classify myself as being pro-life or pro-choice. I do not agree with women using abortions as a form of birth control. If you cannot take responsibility for your own actions then you shouldn't be having sex in the first place.....and I certainly do not agree with tax payer money paying for these abortions. I do however, believe a woman who has been raped or if the pregnancy is putting her life in jeopardy or has been ruled an unviable pregnancy should have the option to abort. This is a personal issue for me as I, myself had an abortion a year ago(D&C is the terminolgy I prefer to use). In my situation - my baby had a genetic deformity - the brain never developed, therefore, there was a 0% chance of survival. I did research & found that babies born with this deformity are born blind, deaf, have no feeling & have no chance of ever gaining consiousness- also these babies only live a few hours, before the body breaks down because there is no "control center" to function the rest of the organs. Even though I knew that my baby had no chance of survival, it was still a very hard choice to make but I had to look at the big picture & take into consideration what was best for me and my family. I don't think I could have handled carrying the baby to term, already knowing the inevitable outcome. There's not a day that goes by that I do not think of that baby, but I can also tell myself that these things happen for a reason - I now have a 5 month old healthy son who would otherwise not be here, & for that I am grateful every day. Life is precious & should not be taken for granted but also know that there are sometimes situations that warrant other decisions.

Umm...Ann..I love how you equate sperm to the joining of an egg and sperm (called fertilization) and the resulting fetus, which will develop into a baby unless somebody ends it's life. Just because she didn't make the choice you think she should, now she doesn't have a brain to "think for herself." Amazing...if you're so "pro choice" then stop your judgement and let her choose life..ok! Sorry that she goes against your liberal agenda. I applaud her for making the right choice and not living with the guilt of having an abortion. Both of my sister's have had abortions and 15 and 10 years later respectively regret it every day. One sister has suffered from depression for years over it and then had trouble conceiving when she was ready to have kids. I for one wish I had 3 more nieces and nephews running around. Life is a blessing and she's giving this baby a chance.

I for one think that she made the right decision. And I applaud her sincerity in saying that she thought long and hard on her choice. Kourtney, way to go! When you look back at your life, having a child is one of the most rewarding experiences you will ever have. I know because I have three.

I think it's good for her to keep the baby, seeing that she probably did get pregnant "accidentally on purpose", just to keep Scott, even knowing that he cheated on her, and all her family members have urged her to seek a counselor for her "needing" to hang on to him. Face it, she has been with him for a while & didn't get pregnant. All of the sudden, as her last effort to hangs on to him, she got herself pregnant. Go figure. I've seen lots of women done this & the relationship still didn't last. She and her family make enough money to support this poor baby, so, it's fair to keep the baby. Just my two cents.

Good grief! There is no murder. This isn't a baby..it is a fetus at the stage of a clump of cells that cannot exist on their own. That is not murder. If you think every potential is murder, then ban masturbation. Those sperm are alive. They have all the DNA of the father's ancestry.

Those women online screaming about the grief of having an abortion are plants from faith based groups.

Bad doctor! How does he know what she will feel? Aren't women disempowered enough without kowtowing to what a doctor says? sheesh. Very disappointing to see women are still so unable to think for themselves.

I dont understand how money/publicity hungry you are. I dont understand why the result of having sex is on t.v. To me you are a "ho" a nice person but still no moral values. The fact that you are accepting the responsability is probably linked to the fact that you will sell your baby's picture and get a show out of it. Is that not why all the Kardashian's do anything?
