My faith in America is dwindling
And, I lose more faith in America:
Five juveniles were in custody Tuesday after a 15-year-old was intentionally set on fire at a Deerfield Beach, Florida, apartment complex, police said.
Michael Brewer suffered second-degree burns over 80 percent of his body. “He’s in for a long, long recovery,” Broward County Sheriff Al Lamberti told reporters.
Three juveniles were arrested Monday night, hours after the incident, and two others were arrested Tuesday, sheriff’s Sgt. Steve Feeley said.
“A couple of them last night were laughing about it,” he said. “One of them arrested today seems genuinely sorry about it.”
I have had two serious, sometimes heated, discussions with two of my Democrat friends, recently. I am slowly coming to the realization that I think I have lost faith in America. It’s kind of disappointing, but I really don’t see us coming back from the downfall we are so clearly in. Then, right after I tell my colleague about this realization, I go to CNN.com and read this story. We have kids setting other kids on fire and laughing about it. How do you come back from that?
My friend asked me last night if I wanted to return to the 1950’s. Well, kind of. This social experiment we have been conducting on our nation and the youth of our nation has failed. We have robbed our children of their childhood and any hope of the future. We are leaving them with a nation worse off than we inherited it. We are morally, economically, and spiritually bankrupt. Our society places money, power, and fame above all else. Family values, any values, are laughed at, except the values of political correctness and moral relativism. The public says they don’t trust politicians and government, but are constantly turning to politicians and government to save them. We have lost what America was founded and built on and if we can’t restore that we cannot stop this free-fall to America’s death.
And, then, I found this picture:

Any hope I have for America is quickly being extinguished.
