Carrie Prejean: The conservative movement’s new Joe the Plumber.
According to TMZ.com, which is usually on point when reporting on celebrities, Carry Prejean just settled her suit with the Miss California USA Pageant because they threatened to release a sex tape, featuring Prejean, that is so “racy” that even TMZ won’t post it on their site:
Carrie Prejean demanded more than a million dollars during her settlement negotiations with Miss California USA Pageant officials — that is, until the lawyer for the Pageant showed Carrie an XXX home video of her handiwork.
The video the lawyer showed Carrie is extremely graphic and has never been released publicly. We know that, because TMZ obtained the video months ago but decided not to post it because it was so racy. Let’s just say, Carrie has a promising solo career.
We’re told it took about 15 seconds for Carrie to jettison her demand and essentially walk away with nothing. As we first reported, the Pageant is paying around $100,000 to her lawyers and publicist — a fraction of her bills. She pockets nothing in the settlement.
I wonder why she didn’t tell the Values Voters Summit audience about that? Does she think that was a part of God’s plan for her, too? Who knows? Even more importantly, who cares? Carrie Prejean is an orange, fake boob having, empty headed woman. Conservatives should have supported her, but never lifted her up to be the poster child for Christian values. If a girl wants to be sluttastic, that’s her business…except when she holds herself up as a believing practicing Christian.
I don’t know much about her, but other than getting a free boob job, taking topless pictures, starring in a porno, and saying she was raised to believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman, she hasn’t done much else with her life. She has a book coming out about…who knows? More about God’s plan, perhaps? I’m sure she’ll be using Christian conservatives to sell it and they will be who she sells it to. Bleh.
With CPAC only three months away, let me be the first to introduce everyone to this year’s Joe the Plumber.
UPDATE: CNN is claiming that, although it was first reported by TMZ, another source has confirmed to them the existence of the tape. Apparently, though, Prejean was not having sex in the video, as CNN reports this was a one-woman show. But, I hope that I am wrong. As, apparently, Smitty does, too. We all make mistakes. I mean, I wouldn’t make the mistake of taking topless photos or making a sex tape of myself, but that is neither here nor there, I suppose.

I have no idea what happened, though TMZ is not what I would look to as an authoritative source. Christians are not without sin (Romans 3:23).

Don’t sell her short. There’s always the Nobel.
Given their recent history I’d say she’s definitely in the running.

It sounds a bit phony to me. TMZ isn’t shy about the topic of sex, and there are ways to publish such a tape online without violating any laws. You can blur portions, or edit out raw nudity. But the idea that they’re sitting on it because it’s too racy–well, it doesn’t pass the smell test.

Monique, go back to TMZ’s coverage and pay more attention to words like “solo” and references to fingers. They are clearly hinting that the sex tape is Prejean masturbating, although apparently she’s an old-fashioned girl at heart and did not resort to, um, implements of pleasure.

I think that anyone juxtaposing Ms. Prejean’s profession of faith with her video performance art should watch the timing. The Christian notion of repentance means that really bad people can find a way of becoming better people.
If the sex tape was one youthful indiscretion she is sorry for having done (and not just sorry for getting caught), that’s one thing. If there’s sufficient money to induce her to make ANOTHER sex tape, that’s another matter.
I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt in the former case, but she will leave no possibility of doubt in the latter case.
